Product Care

General Care Guide

To extend the longevity of your garments , it is important you take good care of them. So we have created a small care guide to keep the quality and get the best out of your garments.

  • Always wash inside out
  • Cold wash only to prevent shrinking
  • Dry organically (on the line) Don’t tumble dry
  • Be mindful when washing with other colours (especially white or lighter coloured items)
  • Avoid using nappy sand as this will affect the print e.g screen print
  • Do not bleach!

Washing

1. Wash in Cold Water

Cold water is gentler: Always wash your premium T-shirt in cold water (30°C or 86°F). Hot water can cause the fabric to shrink, fade, and wear out faster.Preserves colors: Cold water helps to preserve the richness of the colors, especially for vibrant prints or dyes.

2. Turn It Inside Out

Protect the fabric and prints: To minimize wear on the outer fabric and preserve prints or embroidery, turn the T-shirt inside out before washing. This reduces friction and protects the design from fading or cracking.

3. Use a Gentle Cycle

Choose a gentle or delicate cycle: Select a gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine to minimize stress on the fabric. This prevents stretching or damaging the fibers.

4. Use Mild Detergent

Opt for a mild, non-bleach detergent: Use a gentle, liquid detergent that’s free from harsh chemicals or bleach. Harsh detergents can break down the fabric over time, leading to fading and wear.Avoid fabric softeners: Fabric softeners can build up on premium fabrics, making them feel less soft and potentially affecting the longevity of the material.

5. Wash Similar Colors Together

Prevent color bleeding: Wash your premium T-shirt with similar colors to avoid color bleeding. If it’s a new shirt, you might want to wash it separately the first few times to prevent colors from transferring.

6. Use a Mesh Laundry Bag

Extra protection for delicate fabrics: For added protection, especially if the T-shirt has intricate designs, embroidery, or is made from particularly delicate materials, place it in a mesh laundry bag. This will shield it from direct contact with other clothes and reduce friction during washing.

7. Avoid Bleach or Harsh Chemicals

Preserve fabric integrity: Bleach and other harsh chemicals can damage premium fabrics and fade the colors of your T-shirt.

Ironing

1. Iron While Slightly Damp or Use Steam

Ironing when damp: For the best results, iron your T-shirt while it’s slightly damp. The steam from the fabric will make it easier to remove wrinkles and prevent scorching. Steam iron: If your T-shirt is dry, use the steam function on your iron. Steam helps loosen wrinkles without direct contact, which is gentler on the fabric.

2. Use a Low Heat Setting

Avoid high heat: Premium T-shirts, especially those made from delicate materials or with prints, should be ironed on a low or medium heat setting. High heat can scorch the fabric, shrink it, or damage printed designs.Use the "cool" or "synthetic" setting for shirts made from blends or delicate fabrics like cotton blends or performance materials.

3. Iron Inside Out

Protect prints and embroidery: Always iron your T-shirt inside out, especially if it has prints, logos, or embroidery. This helps protect the design from direct heat and prevents any fading or cracking.Preserve the fabric’s finish: Ironing the inside out also helps maintain the fabric’s smooth surface on the outside.

4. Avoid Ironing Over Prints or Designs

Be cautious with prints: If your T-shirt has screen printing, embroidery, or any embellishments, avoid ironing directly over those areas. Direct heat can damage the print or distort the design.Iron around the print: Focus on ironing the areas without designs, and if needed, use a cloth to cover the print and avoid direct contact with the iron.

Drying

1. Air Dry or Lay Flat to Dry

Best option: Always air dry your premium goods by hanging them on a clothesline or laying them flat on a clean, dry surface. This helps prevent any damage from high heat, which can shrink, distort, or weaken the fabric.Use a drying rack: If you're laying it flat, a drying rack is a great way to keep the shirt in shape without stretching it out.

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Sunlight can fade colors: If you're air-drying outside, avoid hanging your T-shirt in direct sunlight for extended periods, as UV rays can cause fading over time.Dry in the shade: Opt for a shaded area if drying outdoors to protect the fabric’s colors.

3. Turn It Inside Out

Inside-out drying: Turning the T-shirt inside out helps protect the print or design from any potential damage caused by friction or heat. This also helps prevent fading of the print.

4. Avoid Over-Drying

Don’t over-dry: Whether air-drying or using a machine, avoid over-drying the shirt. Once it’s mostly dry, take it out of the dryer or off the line to prevent the fabric from becoming stiff or losing its softness.

5. Store Properly After Drying

Once dry, fold the T-shirt properly or hang it on a padded hanger to preserve its shape and fabric.
